On Sunday, October 30, 2005 , members of St. Paul ’s Church in Piqua , voted to determine whether we would dissolve our affiliation with the United Church of Christ (UCC) denomination.

The vote overwhelmingly supported severing our UCC ties and returning to our original church name, henceforth, we shall be known as St. Paul ’s Evangelical and Reformed Church. Our decision was not made lightly but followed much soul searching and prayer. It became clear that our church could no longer remain in a denomination that has strayed so far from the word of God.

We appreciate every individual and the various churches who offered us support and prayers during our difficult decision. We want the community to know that we are an open church, welcoming all who seek to follow God and keep His commandments. In the words of the psalmist:  

“The Lord gives strength to His people;

The Lord blesses His people with peace;

The peace of God be with you.
